To Villa Siena Families of Residents and Staff:
We had a brief period when we had the all-clear from Covid 19 in both facilities, but unfortunately, we have recently had several cases appear. On Sunday, the 15th, one resident with mild cold-like symptoms tested positive for Covid 19 in our NCU building. Since then, we have had seven residents test positive in NCU and three staff members. In the ALU building, we have one resident who is positive for COVID-19. At this time, all the residents and staff exhibit minimal symptoms, with the strain of isolation being the biggest complaint. In the NCU, we have separated dining and adjusted activities to make sure the positive residents do not interact with those who are negative. For our positive residents need support and contact from their family and friends, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with the unit so we can arrange phone calls and/or outside visitation (with appropriate masks and distance) to ensure they do not get too stressed staying in their rooms for the ten-day isolation period. In the ALU, we have isolated one positive resident, and we are monitoring the other residents to make sure they are not exhibiting any symptoms. We recommend masking when visiting the facility. All residents will be tested again at least twice a week, and public health continues to be part of the follow-up and support as we continue to manage the cases in the facility. Once again, please ensure you do not visit if you are not feeling well.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize our residents and staff’s health and safety.
